Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA) today announces On EV, a package of services and benefits that makes Electric Vehicle ownership easy.
On EV brings together for the first time all the company’s brands – Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Škoda and CUPRA – in one voice.
On EV covers existing and new owners of battery electric vehicles from these highly regarded European manufacturers. It has been developed from extensive customer feedback, the three main themes of which are: “Help me”, “Assure me” and “Give me access”.
On EV is offered with the support of such major Australian partners as JETCharge, ChargeFox, Ampol, Europcar with Volkswagen Financial Services.
Features of On EV include access to battery ‘health’ checks at regular service times and eight-year battery warranty; flexible financing and lease options; solutions for charging at home and on the road; and guaranteed future value.
All VGA brands are backed by national dealer networks that will be able to provide and EV loan service car with a booking.
VGA’s total EV showroom is increasing from five main model lines at present to double that by the end of 2025. That roll out continues today with the public launch of Volkswagen’s instantly iconic ‘electric Kombi’, the ID. Buzz and the ID. Buzz Cargo.
“Volkswagen Group Australia is already Australia’s biggest importer of European vehicles,” VGA Managing Director Karsten Seifert said. “VGA is rapidly becoming the biggest provider of European electric vehicles.
“On EV not only removes any misgiving around buying an EV, it makes buying an EV logical. Equally, customers who already have EV experience will see that On EV gives VGA brands an advantage even beyond its battery technology and the relative ease of repairing these.
“We guarantee that your battery will retain at least 70 per cent capacity at the end of the eight year warranty or 160,000km.”
On EV provides solutions for at home and on the road charging, including home charging installation and access to public charging networks within the finance package.
“While EVs from VGA are priced comparably with our conventional cars and SUVs, there remains much misinformation about the supposed high up-front cost of EV purchase,” Mr Seifert said.
“Value is not simply a question of sticker price; it is about a worry free, whole of ownership experience. On EV provides that.”
The finance aspect of On EV will be built on Guaranteed Future Value; novated lease options for all VGA EVs; and all in one weekly re-payments – a virtual ‘pay as you go’ means of owning your VGA EV.
“The best means of overcoming reservations about EVs is to create familiarity, so the On EV experience can commence before purchase,” Mr Seifert said.
“Beginning with CUPRA’s Born hatchback, it will be possible to take month-long test drives through Europcar to fully experience the ease of EV ownership.”
After today’s launch of Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz and ID.Buzz Cargo, 2025 will see see a procession of VGA EVs: Audi’s Q4 e-tron, Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron; Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5 GTX; and CUPRA’s Tavascan.
These are followed shortly thereafter by Škoda’s Elroq (joining the now on sale Enyaq range); and Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz GTX in addition to new and updated Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles from CUPRA.
