- New standard features and pricing
- Extended Electronic Differential Lock (XDL), Driver Fatigue Detection System, anti-theft alarm system and alloy wheels standard on all models
Volkswagen Australia is pleased to announce the arrival of a revised range of its award-winning Jetta model line-up, bringing with it a raft of technical enhancements, additional comfort and convenience features and a newly created performance-oriented flagship model.
The new Jetta range continues Volkswagen Australia's strategy to reduce complexity within its product lines, offering a core range of models and greater standard features across the board.
The revised Jetta range now benefits from the standard fitment of Volkswagen's own Extended Electronic Differential Lock (XDL) function, which reduces understeer by braking the inside wheel while cornering under load; as well as the potentially life-saving Driver Fatigue Detection System – a feature particularly beneficial for Australian customers who travel long distances.
All models in the revised Jetta range also receive an anti-theft alarm system, alloy wheels, cruise control as standard, as well as a leather multi-function steering wheel combined with Multi-Function Display (MFD Plus).
The new Jetta line-up offers a range of engine and transmission pairings throughout the model grades. The 118TSI engine is available with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG transmission in Trendline Specification, and with the 7-speed DSG standard on Comfortline and Highline specification. The 103TDI diesel engine is paired with a 6-speed DSG and comes in Highline specification, while the newly added 155TSI Highline Sport model comes with a 6-speed DSG as standard.
Engines
1.4 litre TSI
The 118kW 1.4 litre TSI petrol engine returns in the Jetta range given its impressive performance and thrifty fuel efficiency: achieving just 6.2 litres per 100km combined cycle with the DSG, and 6.5 litres with the manual transmission. The Jetta 118TSI has already previously been recognised in the Wheels Gold Star Value Awards and Australian Motoring Club's annual Running Cost Survey, and this award-winning package is available with either a 6-speed manual (Trendline) or 7-speed DSG transmission in Trendline, Comfortline and Highline specification.
2.0 litre TDI
The 103kW 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine returns in the revised Jetta model range, offering the same winning combination of performance, with an enormous 320Nm of torque and a fuel efficient 5.5 litres per 100km combined cycle. The 2.0 litre TDI is available exclusively with the Jetta Highline specification, and is paired with a 6-speed DSG transmission as standard.
2.0 litre TSI
Adding new levels of performance and sporting prowess to the Jetta range, the 155kW 2.0 litre TSI petrol engine is available exclusively with the Jetta Highline Sport model, paired with a standard 6-speed DSG transmission. Not only does the 155TSI Highline Sport offer blistering performance for open road motoring, the EA888 powerplant also maintains 7.8 litres per 100km fuel economy while being able to sprint to 100km/h in just 7.2 seconds.
Specification lines
118TSI Trendline
Available with the popular 118kW TSI petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG transmission, the Trendline specification offers great value for money with a range of standard inclusions, including XDL, Driver Fatigue Detection System and 16-inch 'Sonoma' alloy wheels.
118TSI Comfortline
As seen in other Volkswagen models such as Golf and Polo and the previous Jetta range, the Comfortline specification adds a number of convenience and comfort features above the features of the entry Trendline class. In the case of the revised Jetta range, the Jetta 118TSI Comfortline receives the RNS510 satellite navigation system, rear view camera with front and rear parking distance sensors, dual zone climate control air conditioning, rain sensing wipes, automatically dimming mirror and automatic headlights and comfort front seats.
118TSI Highline and 103TDI Highline
The Highline specification again offers two engine and transmission choices: the 118TSI petrol engine with a 7-speed DSG transmission, or the 103TDI diesel engine with a 6-speed DSG transmission. Both models extend on the already impressive level of features in the Comfortline class by adding Vienna leather appointed upholstery with comfort sport front seats, an electronically adjustable driver's seat, keyless access with keyless entry and starting system, 17-inch "Lancaster" alloy wheels and front fog lights with static cornering lights.
155TSI Highline Sport
The revised Jetta range also brings with it a new flagship model, the 155kW Highline Sport model, which features unique features above the already stellar Highline specification. The Highline Sport model is powered by the 155TSI petrol engine previously seen in the award-winning Mark VI Golf GTI and rides on dynamic sports suspension. Adding another dimension of sportiness to its exterior and interior appearance, the Jetta Highline Sport features aggressive 18-inch 'Charleston' alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime driving lights, LED tail lights, Gearshift paddles mounted behind the leather Multi-function steering wheel and dark tinted rear side and rear window glass.
