Peugeot Australia has today announced further specification details for the highly anticipated PEUGEOT 308 range as well as launched the online configurator for customers to discover the range in more detail. With the full local line up and initial details announced in July, further specification has now been confirmed, with more information, including pricing, to follow closer to the launch in quarter four.
As previously confirmed, the Australian PEUGEOT 308 range will consist of four variants: 308 GT Hatch, 308 GT Premium Hatch, 308 GT Premium Wagon and the 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid. The 308 GT Hatch, 308 GT Premium Hatch and 308 GT Premium Wagon are confirmed to arrive in quarter four, 2022 with the local arrival of the 308 GT Sport Plug-In Hybrid following in H1, 2023.
The three internal combustion engine (ICE) variants will be powered by a 3 cylinder, 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine producing 96kW of power and 230Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed Efficient Automatic Transmission (EAT8).
The PEUGEOT 308 GT Sport Hatch Plug-In Hybrid will combine a 4 cylinder, 1.6L petrol turbocharged engine producing 132kW of power with an 81kW electric motor, mated to an 8-speed electric-Efficient Automatic Transmission (e-EAT8) gearbox to provide a combined output of 165kW of power and 360Nm of torque. Further specification details for this variant will be announced closer to launch.
Across the range, the PEUGEOT 308 is instantly recognisable at first glance both by day and by night. The front headlamps use LED technology and are extended by hook-shaped LED daytime running lights on the front bumper. This light signature is perfectly in keeping with the current PEUGEOT style and new to PEUGEOT, features Matrix LED Technology, for greater efficiency and safety in everyday use. At the rear, the headlamps use Full LED technology displaying the iconic 3 claws for a modern, brand-specific light signature that showcases a 'welcome sequence' upon unlocking the vehicle.
The bold exterior styling also blends seamlessly into the interior decor where refined finishes are similarly presented throughout. The interior design highlights the diversity and richness of its materials with the 308 GT Hatch featuring Tri-Material Alcantara with leather effect seat trim and the 308 GT Premium Hatch and Wagon featuring Full Grain Nappa leather^ seat trim.
Inside, the Peugeot i-CockpitTM will include a 10" HD colour touchscreen across the 308 range offering convenient access to the enhanced technology and connectivity on board.
