Narva has further expanded its unique-looking AeroTech® range of strobes/rotators with the recent addition of even brighter and more durable 'Heavy Duty' models to complement the line-up.
Designed and engineered in Australia, the new range was developed with demanding Australian conditions and applications in mind, combining superior lighting performance, eye-catching looks and rugged construction to produce Narva's most visible strobe.
To achieve their impressive output, AeroTech® Heavy Duty strobes combine high-power LEDs, precision reflectors and optics, as well as a larger footprint and taller profile than the original Aerotech strobes – together they deliver light that's up to six times brighter than SAE Class 1 requirements for both rotate and flash patterns. This performance ensures superior visibility even in extremely bright conditions.
Also helping visibility is the lamps' unique 'trilobular' shape, characterised by a greater front surface and tapering from the front to the back of the lamps – this improves aerodynamics, resulting in reduced in-cabin wind noise.
Given their high light output, a clever feature of the lamps is an integrated light sensor that automatically switches the strobe between high and low power modes, ensuring the lamps are not too bright for other road users or workers at night or during low light conditions. For added flexibility, a switch allows the user to alter between modes manually if required.
Attaining high level durability was an important goal when designing the new AeroTech® Heavy Duty LED range. To achieve this, the lamps use diecast aluminium bases that make the lights more resistant to vibration and shock – they have successfully passed stringent IEC 60068-2-64 vibration testing as well as ISO 16750-3 mechanical shock testing. Additionally, the lamps have been put through the even more stringent military spec vibration test, MIL-STD-810G.
Also helping the lamps' longevity are ultrasonic welds that seal the strobe from water and dust, allowing them to not only meet IP67, but the more demanding IP69K, which means that after a hard day in the mines, on the construction site or farm, equipment can be pressure-washed at high heat without concern.
AeroTech® Heavy Duty's solid-state circuitry also removes moving parts to eliminate mechanical failures, while the lamps' virtually-unbreakable polycarbonate lenses include a special 'Makrolon 2607' material which is resistant to UV. The lamps also meet CISPR 25 Class 3 standards for EMC ensuring there's no annoying electrical interference in the cabin.
Amber models are available in two heights (100mm and 160mm), whilst additional colour configurations are available in the 160mm height: green, red, blue and blue with clear lens, making them suitable for a wide range of industries and applications.
For added flexibility to fit a range of vehicles and equipment, an adapter plate is also included with every lamp, allowing AeroTech® HD to use any existing bolt holes made for traditional strobes or beacons.
The AeroTech® Heavy Duty LED line-up is backed by a generous 7-year Narva warranty. The lamps are available from leading transport, construction, agricultural and trade outlets nationwide.
