Entering their fifth year of partnership, Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) has provided a new Isuzu MU-X to Child Safety Education champions Bruce and Denise Morcombe to assist with the delivery of their award-winning Child Safety curriculum to school children and parents across Australia.
"Isuzu UTE take their Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously, especially in the area of Child Protection and the Daniel Morcombe Foundation is extremely thankful for their generous sponsorship in providing us with a brand new MU-X," the not-for-profit charity Co-Founder Bruce Morcombe said.
Daniel Morcombe's legacy is the Foundation named in his honour, and has provided Child Safety Education and Awareness to millions of Australian children. Thanks to the efforts of the Foundation, Queensland's Department of Education, Training and Employment developed the Daniel Morcombe Child Safety Curriculum which aims to teach children about personal safety and awareness by focusing on three key safety messages: Recognise, React and Report. It is hoped other states and territories will soon adopt this curriculum.
"The amazing and tireless efforts of Bruce, Denise and their Foundation has not only made our communities safer, but saved lives, so being able to play a part in this success gives everyone here at IUA a great sense of pride – helping people who help others is a very easy thing to do," IUA's Assistant General Manager of Marketing & PR Dave Harding said.
"For the last five years we have relied upon Isuzu's reliability to perform child safety presentations right around the country – from Brisbane to Broome and Ayr to Adelaide we've clocked up an impressive 250,000km with no dramas – they're the perfect partner for the work we do," Denise Morcombe added.
