Independent vehicle safety advocate, ANCAP, today welcomed the appointment of the Hon. Michael McCormack MP as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Transport.
"I congratulate Minister McCormack on his appointment and welcome him back as a public advocate for vehicle safety," said ANCAP Chair, Ms Wendy Machin.
"A rising road toll requires strong national leadership and renewed efforts to combat unnecessary road trauma."
"We look forward to working closely with him to advance vehicle and road safety initiatives across regional and metropolitan Australia," Ms Machin added.
Mr McCormack previously held responsibility for road safety and witnessed a live ANCAP crash test during his time as Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister from September 2015 to February 2016.
