Hobart, March 2015 – ŠKODA Australia has expanded its new generation Octavia offering with the arrival of the new Octavia Scout 4x4, bringing with it an expanded engine line-up for the new range.
Boasting a comprehensive range of engines, the new Octavia Scout 4x4 is available with a 110kW diesel combined with a six-speed manual transmission and a choice of either a 135kW diesel or 132kW petrol engine coupled with a six-speed automatic dual clutch [DSG] transmission.
The Octavia Scout range brings a new generation Haldex 5 all-wheel drive system, raised ground clearance and unique exterior and interior styling.
At its heart, the Octavia Scout 4x4 embodies all the award-winning qualities of the existing Octavia range: elegant design and proportions, useful interior space and a host of 'Simply Clever' features and technology; but in wearing the elite 'Scout' badging the rugged Octavia also gains its own unique identity and presence on the road.
The Octavia Scout 4x4 is instantly recognisable by its strong-featured Scout-specific bumpers. The rugged and functional features continue underneath the vehicle to underbody protection for rough road-use. The Octavia Scout 4x4 also sits 31mm higher than the regular Octavia, offering greater ground clearance for greater versatility.
The interior of the Octavia Scout 4x4 expands on the much-lauded design of the standard Octavia range with its own unique badging and trim details. The Octavia Scout 4x4 interior features include standard highlights such as a 5.8-inch "Bolero" touchscreen radio, leather appointed steering wheel, gear-shifter and hand brake lever and chrome inner door handles.
In the higher specifi cation 135TDI and 132TSI models, both receive Alcantara leather appointed seat upholstery, an eight-inch 'Columbus' unit with touch screen functionality and satellite navigation, dual zone air conditioning and automatic tailgate as standard equipment.
For customers wishing to further enhance their Octavia Scout 4x4, two optional valuepacked packages are available. On top of the 110TDI models' impressive list of standard features including nine airbags, rear view camera and rear parking sensors, fatigue detection and Passenger Protect Assist, the Scout 4x4 can be paired with the optional Premium Pack. The Premium Pack includes 110TDI Octavia the 8-inch touch screen 'Columbus' unit with satellite navigation, Alcantara leather-appointed upholstery, dual zone air conditioning, heated front seats, automatic tailgate, 17-inch 'Polar' alloy wheels, and privacy glass. Available on all three engine variants, an optional Tech Pack brings Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Assist and City Emergency Brake [available on the 110TDI and 132TSI only], Bi-Xenon headlights, Automatic Parking Assist, premium 10-speaker Canton sound system, advanced keyless entry with Smart Start, Driving Mode Selection, and, for the fi rst time for ŠKODA, a new camera-based Lane Assist system.
