The highly anticipated Suzuki GSX-S1000 street sports motorcycle has now arrived into dealerships across the country.

Originally unveiled at the 2014 International Motorcycle Show (Intermot) in Cologne last September, the all-new litre naked bike signifies a resurgence for the brand famous for producing world class large capacity street bikes.

"To successfully launch Suzuki's latest street motorcycle, a dedicated number demonstrator models have been made available to allow customers to experience the latest Street Sports contender from Suzuki" said National Marketing Manager, Lewis Croft

"Suzuki has a philosophy of creating value that exceeds the customer's expectation and what better way to back this up is with a test ride experience."

Customers will also be pleased with the GSX-S1000 price of just $14,990 plus on costs which positions the Suzuki well ahead of the competition.

35 years after the birth of the original GSX model, the GSX-S series takes the GSX line in an aggressive new direction and is set to become the next member in the family of iconic models from Suzuki.

The roots of the GSX series started in 1976 with the GS750. It was Suzuki's first 4-stroke in-line-four cylinder powered sportbike. Its performance, handling and durability impressed riders all over the world.

In 1980, the GS engine evolved to 16-valve design with the introduction of the GSX750E. It was the origin of the glorious GSX lineage, followed by the radical GSX1100S KATANA in 1981, and the legendary, original GSX-R750 in 1985.

The original concept for GSX was high-performance sportbike, featuring broad powerband, nimble handling, and great durability. This engineering philosophy is still alive today in all current GSX models, from the top-end GSX-RR MotoGP race machine to street legal production models, like the new GSX-S1000.

The GSX-S1000 is powered by an enhanced version of the legendary K5-K8 series 999cc, long stroke, DOHC, In-line four-cylinder GSX-R1000 engine that claimed multiple championships worldwide including the 2005 WSBK title.

The GSX-S1000 is also Suzuki's first sportsbike to feature Suzuki's advanced traction control system which allows the rider to control throttle with more confidence in various riding conditions. The 3-mode system continuously monitors front and rear wheel speeds, throttle position sensor, crank position sensor and gear position sensor, and quickly reduce engine output when wheel spin is detected. This enables the rider to enjoy sport riding with more confidence, with less stress and fatigue

To ensure top-level braking performance the GSX-S1000 is equipped with the same top-of-the-line Brembo monobloc calipers straight from the GSX-R1000 which also feature an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to assist the rider maintaining directional control even during hard braking.

Suzuki engineers designed a new chassis in a compact, lightweight package that makes the GSX-S1000 agile and fun to ride. Every aspect of the chassis reflects a focus on great handling and control in real-world conditions from city streets to twisty mountain roads.

Top shelf Renthal aluminium Fatbar handlebars and a full multi-function LCD instrument cluster cap off the already impressive package.

A perfect fit for riders seeking an aggressively styled machine with supersports DNA on the streets, the Suzuki GSX-S1000 offers all that and so much more.
