Ready to win out of the crate, Suzuki's all-new, fuel-injected, 2010 RM-Z250 motocrosser is now available in Australia.

The hotly-anticipated, new generation RM-Z250 follows in the footsteps of the ground-breaking Suzuki RM-Z450, becoming the first, quarter-litre production motocross machine to feature Suzuki's innovative fuel-injection technology.

Developed in competition, the all-new package also features significant engine, chassis and suspension developments, and is set to add to the RM-Z250's already impressive racing record.

The all-new, fuel-injected RM-Z250 has had a perfect racing debut in 2009 with young Australian Pro Lite star Matt Moss claiming four wins in as many rounds in the 2009 Super X Championship.

"When Suzuki introduced fuel-injected engines to the RM-Z450, it broke the mould for motocross racing," Perry Morison, General Manager, Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.

"That technology is now set to revolutionise quarter-litre racing, with the all-new, fuel-injected Suzuki RM-Z250.

"With a host of other major developments to an already-successful package, the 2010 Suzuki RM-Z250 is the ultimate, race-ready 250cc motocrosser."

The new RM-Z250's compact and lightweight 249cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC powerplant now revs to 13,500pm and offers impressive high-end performance without compromising low-to-mid range power and torque.

Suzuki's original Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system incorporates a 43mm throttle body with progressive throttle linkage and a battery-less fuel pump, giving the RM-Z250 outstanding performance.

Revised cam timing and intake ports, a stronger connecting rod and a more-rigid crankshaft are among the other upgrades to the engine, which includes titanium valves, Suzuki's Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) and Suzuki Advanced Sump System (SASS).

The all-new, 2010 RM-Z250 has re-designed radiator louvers to optimise cooling in competition, while a new muffler complements the enhanced engine.

Chassis and suspension updates give RM-Z250 riders superior cornering and tighter line selection, with the redesigned and more-rigid, lightweight twin-spar aluminium-alloy frame offering better balance and traction at high speed.

Side rails are shallower with thicker lower frame tube walls, and the Suzuki's new swingarm has a revised centre brace to increase rigidity, with a centralised mass to deliver optimum traction.

Spring and damping rates and rear linkage in the advanced suspension package have been revised to deliver razor-sharp and confidence-inspiring handling.

The 47mm inner tube, Showa inverted, twin-chamber, cartridge-style front fork offers 22-way compression damping, 20-way rebound damping and 300mm of wheel travel, combining with a Showa rear shock absorber.

Attention to detail is a feature of the all-new, 2010 RM-Z250, with wave rotors optimising disc brake cooling, and new footpeg brackets increasing mud deflection and preventing clogging.

Rider control and feel is maximised by a textured seat, comfortable riding position, Renthal tapered aluminium handlebars and a Renthal-labelled handlebar pad to reduce vibrations.

Featuring a new Black / Champion Yellow livery, black and yellow plastics are offset by eye-catching red, black and white graphics, and are further complemented by black background numberplates.

To celebrate the arrival of the all-new, 2010 RM-Z250, Suzuki will include a free Garmin training watch worth $469\* with any RM-Z250 or RM-Z450 from its title-winning motocross range purchased before the end of the year.
