Suzuki has overhauled one of Australia's most popular, high-powered sports motorcycles, the Suzuki Hayabusa, now equipped with Brembo front brakes and the first in Suzuki's sportsbike range to feature an Antilock Brake System (ABS).

Originally introduced in 1999 and consistently tested as the fastest production motorcycle in the world, the iconic Hayabusa redefined the hyper-sport category and in doing so required its own classification 'ultimate sport'.

Named after the Japanese bird of prey capable of speeds in excess of 300 km/h, the Suzuki Hayabusa has been designed for maximum performance and represents the pinnacle of sportsbike engineering, performance and styling.

The all-new 2013 Hayabusa is the first in Suzuki's sportsbike range to feature an Antilock Brake System (ABS) to enhance brake performance and prevent wheel locking due to changed road conditions or excessive braking\*.

In addition the 2013 Hayabusa is now equipped with top-of-the-line radial-mount Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers that deliver prompt feedback to the rider, with an enlarged piston diameter from 32-30mm to 32-32mm meaning greater force is applied to the brake disc, resulting in increased initial bite to tame the Hayabusa's incredible power.

Packed with race-bred technology, the 2013 Hayabusa features Suzuki's Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system and a 1,340cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine providing strong power delivery and impressive torque throughout its broad powerband.

Suzuki's original Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) lets riders select one of three engine maps to suit road conditions and their riding preferences, while the slick-shifting six-speed transmission works in conjunction with the innovative Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) back-torque-limiting clutch to deliver smooth and controlled downshifts.

Inverted cartridge front forks feature a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating surface treatment on the 43mm stanchion tubes to reduce friction and increase reaction to small irregularities on the road.

Countless engineering refinements and extensive wind tunnel testing have contributed to find the ultimate shape for high-speed riding with the radical aerodynamic styling giving the all-new Hayabusa its unique look whilst also improving fuel efficiency.

A lightweight twin-spar aluminium-alloy frame and aggressive and sporty styling in a Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Oort Grey or Pearl Glacier White/Metallic Oort Grey colour scheme complete the potent package.

"Thanks to its incredible design and engineering and of course the support of Hayabusa riders all over Australia, the Hayabusa stands above and apart from other ultimate sport bikes," said Perry Morison, General Manager Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia.

"The addition of ABS and Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers take the 2013 Hayabusa to a whole new level and it really is an unmatched combination of raw race power with agility and control."

The 2013 Hayabusa will be available in Australia in autumn 2013.

\*ABS is a supplemental device for brake operation, not a device for shortening stopping distance. Riders should always remember to reduce speed sufficiently before approaching curves and objects.
