Suzuki Australia has just launched its latest street-legal dirtbike for 2001, the all-new DR-Z250.

Developed to offer the best of both worlds, the Suzuki DR-Z250 is a serious off-road performer with the added convenience of being 100% street legal.

“Suzuki’s DR-Z250 has a very strong pedigree and I think it will soon become a favourite among dirtbike riders,” Perry Morison, Suzuki Australia’s General Manager, Motorcycles, says.

“It has the benefit of both electric and kick start as standard equipment, and now comes with a large capacity plastic fuel tank for added durability.”

Powering the DR-Z250 is an Australian Safari class-winning 4-stroke engine that features a wide, flat torque curve, providing excellent pulling power right across the rev range.

Air / oil-cooled, the 249cc engine features dual overhead camshafts and a four-valve Twin-Swirl Combustion Chamber cylinder head. A quick-release airbox cover provides access to the heavy-duty air-cleaner for easy maintenance.

The Suzuki DR-Z250 comes into its own on the trails with the rigid frame allowing nimble handling, and the ability to traverse everything from the tightest corners to the steepest inclines with ease.

All-new, fully adjustable suspension features cartridge-style forks up front, with long-travel suspension fitted at the rear. Fully adjustable compression and rebound damping front and rear allow the rider to tailor the bike to suit any conditions.

Ample stopping power for this new DR-Z is provided by hi-tech front and rear disc brakes.

“The DR-Z250 is the perfect example of a user-friendly, affordable machine - we anticipate it will strongly appeal to the market,” Perry Morison says.

The all-new Suzuki DR-Z250 is available in Champion Yellow and is supported by a one-year unlimited kilometre warranty.

Suggested retail price is $7,990 including GST, plus dealer and on-road costs.
