27 May 2013 - The imminent arrival of the final
instalment of Honda's highly anticipated 500cc trio, the CB500X
will break the mold of adventure touring machines when it reaches
dealerships nationally in early June 2013.
Offering maximum adventure for a minimum price, Honda's LAMS
approved CB500X with its light weight and upright riding position
will capture a new generation of adventure riders who will
appreciate its competitive MLP of just $7,490 (please note this
price is the Manufacturers List Price and does not include on-road
or registration costs).
Built with a high performance, liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin
engine that offers plenty of accessible power, the CB500X boasts a
larger fuel tank than its sporty CBR500R and naked CB500F
counterparts, making it perfect for longer weekend adventures.
Physically taller, with longer travel suspension and a slightly
longer wheelbase than its siblings, the CB500X has styling derived
from the 1200cc V4 Crosstourer. Compact fairing and an adjustable
windshield provides just enough weather protection without being
cumbersome, allowing the CB500X to have a lightweight feel and
nimble handling.
The riding position is upright and athletic thanks to the low
seat height, comfortable handlebars and the specially designed fuel
tank. Both new and returning riders will enjoy that the CB500X is
lighter and easier to handle than other big-bore adventure
machines.
A steel diamond frame and high quality suspension provide
confident, precise handling as do 17-inch cast aluminium wheels and
wide 120 front, 160 rear radial tyres. Powerful wave-pattern disc
brakes are assisted by standard-fitment ABS guaranteeing superior
stopping performance on all road surfaces.
The fully cowled, sports CBR500R and the naked, commuter CB500F
achieved instant popularity after their April release and the
CB500X completes Honda's exciting new trio which is expected to
reshape the LAMS market in Australia.
