The massive team of RIDE RED riders made their debut on Sunday at round 1 of the MX Nationals on the weekend in Newry, Victoria, racing across MX1, MX2 and MXD classes.
In the MX1 class Joel Green, James Alen, Joel Wightman, Izak Maule and Lachie Davis gave their all in two 30 minute + 1 lap motos.
Wightman finished the weekend in 10th place overall, followed by Lachie Davis in 12th, Joel Green in 13th, James Alen 15th and Izak in 25th.
Leading MX1 Ride Red rider Joel Whiteman was satisfied with his first round results; "This was a solid round for me to build from. Everything worked well and I am pleased with where we are at." Wightman said.
The Latimer brothers raced in the MX2 class and sit in 15th and 25th respectively. Both riders expect more from themselves and will focus on improving their positions in round 2.
In the MXD class Rhys Budd sits in 8th overall and Caleb Goullet had a trying and testing weekend finishing outside of the points.
Jai Constantinou, competing under Honda Genuine Oil's development program, also raced in the MXD and sits in 10th.
All riders now shift their focus towards round 2 preparations.
