25 July 2013 - Designed from the ground up as
a total package that is responsive and lightweight, Honda's 2014
CRF450R will continue to prove itself a winner at the highest
levels of racing when it touches down in Australia in October
2013.
Available now to order through Honda Dealerships nationally, the
already championship-winning CRF450R will boast an even more
competitive edge for 2014 thanks to modifications to the engine and
updates to the suspension.
The CRF450R's powerful 449cc single-cylinder engine delivers
improved bottom-end torque thanks to new dual fuel-injection timing
and updated twin rear silencers. Both inlet and exhaust ports have
been redesigned and reshaped to improve gas flow and combustion
efficiency that delivers sensitive feel for power and torque at
partial throttle openings. While also providing a direct, yet
sensitive connection to the rear tyre enhancing rear wheel traction
and drive, these modifications will also improve the rider's feel
for available grip.
To meet the needs of today's generation of riders, the CRF450R
combines an aluminium frame with an innovative suspension package
to ensure a low centre of gravity along with class-leading
performance.
Revised internals in the KYB PSF® (Pneumatic Spring Fork)
yield improved damping response for improved bump performance. The
sixth generation aluminium twin-beam frame remains unchanged for
2014, as do the aluminium swingarm and Pro-Link rear suspension
linkage.
The front disc cover is designed in two parts for easier
maintenance of the 240mm wave-pattern disc and twin-piston brake
calliper, while the rear brake is a 240mm wave-pattern disc with
single-piston calliper.
Tucked in closely to the machine's centre of gravity is the
strategically engineered compact dual-muffler exhaust system that
was implemented in 2013.
With crisp styling in line with Honda's racing lineage, the
CRF450R's bodywork maintains the triangular proportions synonymous
with Honda's CRF family.
Due to arrive into the country in October 2013, the 2014 CRF450R
is now available to order through your local Honda Dealer.
