BMW Motorrad Australia has confirmed the pricing for two all new
models due to arrive in May and July this year - the BMW R 1200 RS
and BMW S 1000 XR.
The all new BMW R 1200 RS continues a long-standing tradition
that stretches back to 1976 when it was celebrated as the
first-ever mass-produced motorcycle featuring a full frame-mounted
fairing, innovatively developed in a wind tunnel.
As the consummate all-rounder for both travelling and sporting
deployment, it established the sports tourer segment. The R 1200 RS
carries on this fine line of Boxer powered motorcycling excellence
into a new era with two stunning variants - Lupin Blue Metallic and
the Exclusive in Granite Grey Metallic Matt.
The R 1200 RS arrives in Australia with a host of standard
features including integral ABS, dynamic traction control with
riding mode pro, dynamic electronic suspension adjustment, cruise
control, LED daytime riding light, chrome exhaust, tyre pressure
control, on board computer, white LED indicators and heated
grips.
The R 1200 RS Exclusive sets itself apart with a design style
appealing to touring riders with sporty ambitions. Contrasting with
the rich body colour, the engine spoiler, gold anodized brake
callipers and the glass-beaded stainless steel tank center cover
make this variant a sporty and exclusive eye catcher.
Factory options include gear shift assist pro, keyless ride, and
seat variants (sport and low) as well as a touring package which
consists of on-board computer pro, preparation for BMW navigation
device, centre stand, luggage grid and pannier holders.
The R 1200 RS will be available at local dealers in May
2015.
The S 1000 XR builds on the tantalising and unique mix of
innovative technology, handling, performance and safety currently
available on the race-bred S 1000 RR, the naked S 1000 R and the
iconic R 1200 GS.
The XR serves up its own individual mix of dynamic touring
qualities, sporty performance and high levels of comfort as well as
outstanding everyday usability in the world's first true Adventure
Sport motorcycle.
The S 1000 XR is available in two colour options, Racing Red and
Light White.
Australian standard features include integral ABS, two riding
modes and automatic stability control, on-board computer, heated
grips, hand protectors and centre stand.
Two packages highlight the available factory options:
The Dynamic Package with ABS Pro, dynamic traction control with
riding mode pro, gear shift assist pro, cruise control and white
LED indicators.
The Touring Package with dynamic electronic suspension
adjustment, preparation for BMW navigation device, luggage grid and
pannier holders.
Further to this, LED daytime riding light, low seat and
suspension lowering kit are available as individual options.
The S 1000 XR is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms in
July 2015.
