- 27 more highly specified California Beach camper vans sell online since 4pm yesterday
- Retro styling with modern AWD popular choices amongst keen early customers
Since going on sale online at 4pm yesterday, Volkswagen customers have once again snapped up a record-setting number of the inbound California Beach camper van, with 27 of the highly specified vans in the first allocation of 2021 orders already spoken for.
Whether it is a result of Australians once again looking to explore their own backyard, or simply the long-awaited release of anticipation, one thing is clear: the next generation 6.1 California Beach is here to stay. The Camper is back!
The specification of this next round of orders also speaks to the model's rich heritage. Of the 27 vehicles sold so far, 16 were specified with the retro two-tone body style, nine of which in the white/copper bronze hue. 19 California Beaches were sold with the TDI450 4MOTION all-wheel drivetrain. 10 of these models were also fully-loaded.
This strong demand follows on from the first release of the California Beach Special Edition, which sold out in under nine hours in June. For customers who missed out then, this was their next opportunity to secure a vehicle from the 2021 allocation, which arrives in Australia in Q1 of next year.
The California Beach, along with the rest of the inbound 6.1 generation of vans and people movers, can be ordered from Volkswagen's national dealer network and online.
All new Volkswagens come with a five year/unlimited kilometre warranty, capped price servicing and value-for-money optional Care Plans.
