Glenn Allerton, riding the Dynotech Maxima BMW HP4 collected points in both races as a wildcard entry in Round 1 of the World Superbike Championship last weekend.

Apart from some minor engine upgrades, the locally-prepared HP4 was in very standard trim. Although this created a disadvantage of lower horsepower and higher weight than many of his rivals, this was countered by greater corner speed and Allerton's intimate knowledge of the track.

Allerton acquitted himself well over the weekend, only missing Saturday's Superpole by one place and finishing a creditable 14thin Race 1. In Race 2, he manoeuvred himself into an authoritative position in the race following an earlier incident at MG Corner. Allerton piloted the HP4 admirably on deteriorating tyres and finished in 12th position, in front of the other wildcard and many regular WSBK riders.

Allerton was both excited and delighted by the performance on the weekend.

"This weekend has been an awesome experience, every rider's dream is to compete against the best in the world. So much preparation has gone into this weekend and I'm enormously proud of our team's achievements. To earn world championship points was fantastic", said Allerton.

General Manager - BMW Motorrad Australia, Tony Sesto, was also delighted with the result.

"Glenn and the Dynotech Maxima BMW Team are to be congratulated on the weekend. It was a fantastic achievement to race against the best and gain World Championship points. The HP4 is a fantastic motorcycle and I am looking forward to the Australian Superbike season where Glenn's immense riding talent will showcase the bike's potential," said Tony.

The team also produced some video clips on their WSBK Debut:
