Having recently taken over the captaincy of the North Melbourne Football Club, Jack Ziebell has joined Mazda to help lead the brand off the playing field as one of its exclusive ambassadors.

A perfect partnership for Mazda, Ziebell is one of the most talented players in the AFL, is loved by his teammates, and respected by footballers and fans regardless of the association.

Ziebell made his AFL debut in the first round of the 2009 season, is a veteran of 147 games and is delighted to be a key player at Mazda.

"To be a part of the Mazda family, and the company itself, is super exciting for me," said newly signed Mazda ambassador Jack Ziebell.

"Obviously Mazda is a great organisation and it's been very successful for a long time.

"Mazda also has a long standing relationship with the North Melbourne Football Club, and that's something that I hold very close to my heart as well."

Noted for his rugged play and attacking style of football, Ziebell is driving the tough Mazda BT-50 Dual Cab GT.

"I'd never driven a BT-50 before, so I was impressed at how well it drives," said Ziebell.

"I actually took it straight from the Club and drove three hours straight up the highway to Albury/Wodonga. It did not miss a beat, it was very comfortable and it's got all the technology and safety equipment that you need."

While the award-winning Brand-New Mazda CX-9 will adorn the North Melbourne guernsey in 2017, the Mazda BT-50 perfectly aligns with Ziebell and his active lifestyle.

"I grew up on a farm in Albury/Wodonga and dad always owned a Ute - and with a love of the outdoors - it made sense to have one also," said Ziebell.

"It's handy to have the extra space, and with a love of fishing, when I get home it's the first thing I want to do.

"You simply throw the rods in the back then head up into the hills. We like to find new water and some of the places are tricky to get to, having a Four-Wheel Drive helps us get to those places.

"The Mazda BT-50 just makes my life easier."

As a Mazda ambassador, Ziebell will play an active role in promoting the brand, meeting Mazda stakeholders and attending events.

"Jack is a leader, and a respected one at that, but he's also a genuinely good person with a wonderful attitude when it comes to his career, and life in general, so Mazda is proud to partner with him," said Mazda Australia marketing director Alastair Doak.

"Considering his love of the outdoors and the way he approaches and plays his football, the Mazda BT-50 is his perfect vehicle, and we look forward to working with him on some great initiatives in the future."

Jack Ziebell joins television presenter Lauren Phillips, 'The Block' Reno royals Kyal and Kara Demmrich, and musical theatre star Rob Mills in Mazda Australia's ambassador program.
